This seminar is an introduction to the Enneagram, an ancient personality framework that has been very helpful for many Christians and Non-Christians alike in understanding one's own personality and life with God and others.
Our time will include exercises, two breaks, and a Q&A at the end. The first hour will be dedicated to defining the major goal of the enneagram, that is, to understand the mechanisms and functioning of the ego in one's life.
Then we will briefly discuss the nine different personality types including core fears/desires, symptomology of each type's health/average/unhealthy levels, stress/security points, general patterns of conduct.
Our session will be led by John Wang. John has been deeply passionate about the enneagram as an aid toward Christian spiritual development since he first discovered it about six years ago upon reading Richard Rohr's The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective. Since that time, he has trained and continues to train with the Riso-Hudson Enneagram Institute and has introduced the enneagram in small group settings. Immigrating here from China at an early age, John grew up in New York City. Currently, he serves as a law clerk to a civil court judge but also wants to faithfully answer a call from God to teach the enneagram in a professional/coaching capacity. He currently lives in Inwood with his wife, Christina, and two sons, Elias and Caedmon and attends Everyday Christian Church.
Cost is $30/person. REGISTER HERE.
Snacks and a light lunch will be provided.
***This event is limited to 30 adults.
***It is recommended for anyone who is interested in attending the workshop go to the Enneagram Institute's website to discover his or her type. They offer a test called the RHETI for $12. It's pretty comprehensive and accurate. And it takes about 40 minutes: https://www.enneagraminstitute.com/rheti
